How to Become a Real Estate Broker in Dubai: Step by Step
In Dubai only a registered real estate broker may broker property deals. Bylaw No. (85) of 2006 created the Real Estate Brokers Register, and RERA's practice guide (Nov 2024) sets out the card process. The path has five steps.
| Step | What you do | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Join a brokerage | Work for an office licensed for real estate brokerage and registered with DLD | Bylaw No. 85 of 2006; RERA guide |
| 2. Take the DREI course | The mandatory broker course with an approved provider, about AED 2,400-3,500 | Training providers, 2024-2026 |
| 3. Pass the RERA exam | Registered by your brokerage through DLD, about AED 772.5 | DLD exam registration e-service; Bayut |
| 4. Get your broker card | The brokerage applies in Trakheesi; the card is issued once fees are paid | RERA Brokerage Practice Guide (Nov 2024) |
| 5. Practise within the rules | Use Contracts A, B and F, get a permit for every advert, follow the ethics rules and the cold-calling ban | RERA guide; Circular 02-2026 |
