Article 6(a)(1) of Decree No. 26 of 2013 gives the Rental Disputes Settlement Centre exclusive jurisdiction over rent disputes for property in the Emirate or in free zones. Article 6(b)(1) excludes only free zones that have their own tribunals or special courts for rent disputes. This free zone has none, so the RDC hears the case without any agreement by the parties, whether the property is residential or commercial.
