Dubai RERA Exam Guide (2026): Format, Pass Mark and Topics
The Dubai RERA exam is the Dubai Land Department's (DLD) certification exam for real estate brokers. You sit it after the mandatory Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) broker course, and you need a pass before RERA, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, issues your broker card. It is a computer-based, multiple-choice exam on Dubai real estate law, RERA procedure, ethics and real estate mathematics.

What the exam tests
RERA's Real Estate Brokerage Practice Guide (2nd edition, Nov 2024) labels its sample items by domain, for example "Laws and Legislation" and "Real Estate Mathematics". DLD publishes no weights, so the split below is our blueprint, built from that guide, the laws themselves and the course areas training providers describe.
| Domain | Our weight | Main laws and topics |
|---|---|---|
| Laws and legislation | 31% | Law No. 7 of 2006 (registration), Law No. 13 of 2008 (off-plan, Oqood), Law No. 8 of 2007 (escrow), Law No. 6 of 2019 (jointly owned property), DLD and RERA |
| Brokerage practice, ethics and compliance | 34% | Bylaw No. 85 of 2006 (brokers register), ethics, Contracts A, B and F, Trakheesi permits, AML |
| Sales and transactions | 7% | Resale steps, trustee offices, DLD fees, mortgages |
| Leasing | 15% | Law No. 26 of 2007 as amended by Law No. 33 of 2008, Decree No. 43 of 2013 (rent increases), Ejari, the Rental Disputes Centre |
| Real estate mathematics and valuation | 13% | sq m to sq ft, price per square foot, service charges, fees, yields, valuation methods |
How to prepare
